The Provincial Metis Council of the Metis Nation-Saskatchewan has announced several governance-related decisions following a recent PMC meeting.
Among the most significant developments was the decision to retract cease and desist letters previously issued to citizens, along with directives that banned individuals from events and meetings.
The letters and bans were enacted last year.
The decision to retract them was announced following the monthly PMC meeting on Thursday.
The Provincial Metis Council also discussed proposed structural changes that would separate the roles of CEO, Clerk and Chief of Staff, pending approval through the MNLA.
Leadership further announced the formation of a Resolutions Committee to review resolutions heading to the MNLA.
The discussions focused on governance restructuring and changes to administrative processes within the organization.
PMC also acknowledged ongoing discussions regarding representation from WR2 and WR3.
Elected representatives Sherry McLennan and Wendy Gervais were suspended in March 2025 following harassment claims from the CEO.
Some people involved had spoken out against the process during the harassment claims.
