The autopsy for a 17-year-old in Pelican Narrows says he died as a result of a severe concussion.

Hilliard Sewap Junior was killed in early May on the reserve.

Sewap had been involved in a fight between two groups in Pelican Narrow that involved a chase, yelling, and some people carrying wood two by fours, said Crown prosecutor Fran Atkinson.

When police were called to a home in Pelican Narrows, Sewap had already been fatally injured.

The autopsy states Sewap’s severe concussion was consistent with blunt force trauma, Atkinson said, but he had also suffered other injuries.

Seven males are charged with second-degree murder – five men and two youths.

7 people are charged with second degree murder in Sewap’s death.

Marcus Sewap, Cody Drake Custer, Robbie Lambert Creed Custer, Trevor Charles, Brandon Lee Matt McCallum and two youths are set for a preliminary hearing.

The two-week court proceedings start April 4, 2016 in Pelican Narrows.
