Final legal arguments regarding compensation for former students of the Timber Bay Residential School will be heard later this spring in Saskatoon.

Lawyers for the Lac La Ronge Indian Band have raised two constitutional issues on why they believe the survivors should be included in the Indian Residential School Settlement Agreement.

Chief Tammy Cook-Searson says the Federal Court hearing will be the culmination of many years of work by a number of people.

She says the constitutional issues being raised have to do with a breach of Treaty 6 and equality rights for Timber Bay survivors.

Cook-Searson says former Timber Bay students are invited to attend the final hearing, which will be held May 30.
