A party to celebrate the first-ever harvest from the Allen Sapp Gallery Healing Garden in North Battleford will be held tonight.
It will take place behind the Allen Sapp Gallery from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Healing garden co-ordinator Kjelti Anderson says they will be gathering sweetgrass and sage — two sacred plants in the Cree culture.
Traditional knowledge keeper Daphie Pooyak will teach volunteers how to gather in the traditional Cree way.
Other plants in the garden, such as mint and yarrow, will also be harvested to make medicinal tea.
