Some final numbers from the Freshwater Fish Marketing Corporation are shedding more light on the kind of year it has been for Saskatchewan commercial fishers.
According to the marketing body, just 344 fishers submitted fish to the agency this year — 69 fewer than the year before.
On average, Saskatchewan fishers took in $7,330 from the FFMC this year.
That’s down from 2009-2010, when harvesters reaped average total payments of $9,437.
Deliveries were also well down last year.
Just 2.4 million kg of product were marketed from Saskatchewan — down from over 3 million kg the previous year.
