Weyerhaeuser Reforests With 13.1 Million Seedlings

As part of their obligation to reforest areas in which they harvest from, Weyerhaeuser has begun planting 13.1 million seedlings in the forest management areas North of Prince Albert and Hudson Bay.

 

Weyerhaeuser spokesperson Vicki Gauthier says the tree planting began on May 9th and will continue until early September.

 

Gauthier says the majority of seedlings planted will be white spruce, with a mixture of black spruce and jack pine to be planted in the key areas as well.

 

A total of 9 Saskatchewan companies are employing approximately 400 people to plant trees
