Stony Rapids, Air Ronge Add Mayor Candidates

The list of contested northern mayoralty races has grown longer.

With nominations having closed yesterday, the village of Air Ronge now has three contenders for the job of mayor.

Ron Ratte has added his name to a list that already included the incumbent, Gordon Stomp, and councillor Jeff Simpson.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Stony Rapids will also be facing competition at the polls.

The northern hamlet’s current leader, Daniel Powder, is being challenged by Sandra Hanson.

Both elections are set for October 28.
