Slain Mounties Remembered Through Painting

A Metis artist has commissioned a painting to honour the memories of two slain RCMP constables.

Joanne Marchildon is from Spiritwood, the community where Robin Cameron and Marc Bourdages once served.

The two were gunned down in 2006, but now a painting has been finished to honour the two forever.

The work is entitled “Fallen Heroes: Let Their Spirit Soar”, and depicts two eagles soaring above a crouching Mountie.

Marchildon says proceeds from the paintings will go towards a fund for fallen officers.

She says she has already sold a number of prints.
