Sask. Woman infected With Listeriosis Dies

A Saskatchewan senior who contracted listeriosis in the outbreak linked to Maple Leaf Foods has died, but health officials are not yet blaming the bacteria for her death.

 

Speaking for the province, Dr. Johnmark Opondo says the woman was in her late 70s and a patient in a long-term care facility in the Heartland Health Region southwest of Saskatoon.

 

The senior tested positive for the bacteria in July and died last Sunday, An investigation is underway to determine an exact cause of death.
