Sandy Bay Gets Funds For New Community Hall

The provincial government is providing just over $133,000 for a new culture and recreational facility in Sandy Bay.

The northern village will construct a community hall to serve a number of needs in the village.

The new multipurpose facility will provide a location for weddings, dances, recreational activities for youth, court proceedings and a variety of other community events.

Minister responsible Christine Tell says community facilities of this kind are particularly important for northern communities, since they provide numerous benefits for children, youth and families.

Tell also says the multipurpose facility will improve the quality of life for residents in and around Sandy Bay.
