Prince Albert’s chief medical health officer says parents shouldn’t be alarmed about a recent diagnosis of swine flu for a boy living in the area.

Dr. Jim Cross says it was about ten days ago that the boy, who is said to be of school age, was taken to emergency with flu-like symptoms.

The child has since recovered and is now able to return to school.

Cross says it’s doubtful they’ll ever know how the Prince Albert boy contracted the virus.

Cross says he knows there is great concern over the swine flu, but the situation is under control.

Cross says sick children should be kept at home until their symptoms are reduced. If the children’s health worsens, parents should take them to the doctor.
