Auditions for the North’s newest talent showcase take place this weekend in La Ronge.

The “Talent of the North” showcase is scheduled to coincide with the La Ronge Winter Trappers Festival on March 12th.

Promoter Danny Mirasty says the event was inspired by the successful “Voices of the North” show that takes place every year at the Prince Albert Winter Festival.

Mirasty says he felt there was enough demand for another show like it.

However, unlike “Voices of the North”, Mirasty says the show in La Ronge is primarily for northern performers and is open to non-Aboriginal talent, as well.

Auditions for the “Talent of the North” show take place tomorrow and Sunday at the La Ronge Motor Hotel.

Auditions run from 2 o’clock to 8 o’clock both days.
