Northern Diabetes Awareness Walk Set To Begin

A man from northern Saskatchewan is starting his trek from Ile-a-la-Crosse to La Ronge for diabetes awareness this weekend.

Initially, Nap Gardiner was planning on walking a traditional trail cross-country — but growing interest in the walk has lead him to adjust the trail to run along more highways.

Gardiner says that his family’s history with diabetes really got him thinking about how he could do something to make people more aware of the disease.

The walk kicks off tomorrow.

Gardiner still isn’t sure how many others will accompany him.
