The provincial government has announced an additional $25 million dollars will be spent on highway repairs this year – on top of the record $345 million already budgeted.
The funding will be used for work on flood- or moisture-damaged roads.
Highways spokesman Doug Wakabayashi says $1 million of the new funding will be spent upgrading roads in the North.
Specifically, he says the money will go towards the re-graveling of gravel highways.
This has been a particularly bad year for road conditions in Saskatchewan, due in part to the mild winter.
