Eight residents of Green Lake are among the people facing charges in a major cocaine bust in northwest Saskatchewan.

The RCMP says a total of 20 people are facing trafficking offences — including several people from the Meadow Lake area.

The Mounties say the operation saw cocaine distributed in Meadow Lake, Green Lake, Beauval and Ile-a-la-Crosse.

The arrests follow a 15-month investigation into a purported drug ring that also reportedly operated in parts of Alberta.

Corrine Bouvier, Andrea Bouvier, Dianna Hall, Kimberly Kennedy, Delores Bouvier, Lorne Brinston, Cecile Anderson and Dianna Ross are the Green Lake residents facing charges — they will all be making their next court appearances in December or in the New Year.

Others charged include Meadow Lake residents Bonnie McLeod, Leta Lafond, Jennifer Lafond and Brenda Roy and Flying Dust resident Marlys Bear.

As well, an arrest warrant has been issued for former Meadow Lake resident Jason Cardinal.
