Montreal Lake Band Prepares For Election Appeals

An appeals board is in place for next month’s chief and council elections in Montreal Lake.

Chief electoral officer A.J. Felix says a recent round of community meetings took place in Prince Albert, Montreal Lake, Little Red and Weyakwin/Timber Bay to endorse a recommended list of candidates for the job.

Felix says those candidates who were selected have vast knowledge about how the election should be run.

Felix adds the appeals board will address any problems that come out of the March 31st vote.

The board members will remain in place until one month after the last appeal is launched.
