The Metis Nation – Saskatchewan has paid off nearly three-quarters of its debt.

MN-S President Robert Doucette says around 70 per cent of the organization’s debt has been paid down . . . and he expects all of it will be paid off by the beginning of the new fiscal year next spring.

Doucette says that should make Metis citizens feel secure that the MN-S is not running deficits.

He says it’s also important to have the bank books in order, because he says it increases the chances of other governments negotiating with the MN-S.
