Mass Immunization On Reserve Falls Short of Goal

Participation in a mass immunization clinic in Grandmother’s Bay this week wasn’t as high as Lac La Ronge Indian Band health officials had originally hoped.

They had wanted to see 80 per cent of eligible community members receive their flu shot at a local school on Wednesday.

The clincic drew 172 people, which represents a 64 per cent turnout.

Community Health Coordinator Kris Keast says despite falling short of the stated goal, she is confident about the pandemic planning in the community.

All parties involved will meet again tonight to discuss what could be done better.
