A La Ronge man running for the Green Party in an upcoming by-election in northern Saskatchewan believes his party’s message should especially resonate with Aboriginal voters.

Robin Orr is one of four candidates running in the March 17th by-election in Desnethe-Missinippi-Churchill River.

He feels the Green Party’s pro-environment stance fits well with Aboriginal people’s ties to the land.

Orr also insists his party isn’t anti-industry or anti-development — but rather, it’s for sustainable development.

He also hopes that with the strong possibility of a general election before the end of the year, northern residents will feel free to “vote with their conscience” in the upcoming by-election.
