La Loche Girl Hospitalized After Shooting

RCMP in La Loche continue to investigate a shooting that sent a 13-year-old girl to hospital.

Sergeant Keith Lowenberger says it was on Friday night around midnight that officers received a report of an incident involving a shotgun near the school.

Lowenberger says that when officers responded to the scene, the girl had already been transported to the local hospital. Her injuries were reportedly caused by several rounds from a 12-gauge shotgun.

He adds the girl has since undergone surgery and is listed in stable condition.

He also says some suspects have been identified to police, but no arrests have been made.
