A jury has been chosen at the coroner’s inquest in Battleford into the death of 35-year-old Ivar Dean Brass.

Brass died July 30th, 2007 at the Saskatchewan Hospital in North Battleford.

A six-person jury of two women and four men has been chosen for the inquest. Three of the jurors are Aboriginal.

Jurors were told this morning that even though the inquest is scheduled to last three days, it might stretch into a fourth day.

Coroner Richard Danyliuk told jurors their job is not to blame anyone for Brass’ death — only to find out how, why and where it happened, and how to prevent similar deaths in the future.
