Former residents of the Primrose Lake Air Weapons range could be getting some good news next week.

Beauval Mayor Alex Maurice confirms Indian Affairs Minister Jim Prentice is scheduled to visit his community next week.

Maurice says Prentice is set to make an announcement at the village arena shortly before noon that day.

Maurice believes the matter concerns the settlement packing that is still owed to four Metis communities in northwest Saskatchewan.

The previous Liberal government announced in March 2005 that it would provide those communities with $19.5 million for removing some former residents from the weapons range decades ago.

The communities covered in the settlement include Beauval, Ile-a-la-Crosse, Jans Bay and Cole Bay.
