A member of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band is vying to become the next southern vice-chief of the Prince Albert Grand Council.

Gordon Hardlotte officially tossed his hat into the ring today.

The former band councillor spent years working with the band’s child and family services wing, and is now the director of operations for Stanley Mission.

He lists economic development in the North as a key issue for him, and says development must start at the grassroots level.

Hardlotte also says he wants to bring the Cree, Dene, and Dakota together as much as possible if elected.

The election for PAGC Southern Vice-Chief will be held during the organization’s annual assembly on October 22nd and 23rd.
