The Metis National Council has seen its funding restored by the federal government.

MNC president Clem Chartier says he has signed four separate agreements over the past three weeks to bring funding levels back to the same level they were last year before a leadership dispute erupted.

He says he now plans to meet with federal Metis Interlocutor Chuck Strahl and resume regular business with the government.

Chartier says another priority is to hold a board of governors meeting in the coming weeks.

He says he and provincial Metis leaders have much to discuss, and hopes they can all pull together in the coming months as the MNC eases back into its normal day-to-day operations.

Chartier adds he has invited Metis Nation – Saskatchewan President Robert Doucette to attend next week’s meeting with Strahl.
