A delegation of Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations representatives could be heading to Europe and Asia later this year.

FSIN chief Lawrence Joseph says the federation is currently laying the groundwork for a trade mission to Germany, China and Taiwan.

Joseph says some businesses in those countries have extended invitations to the FSIN to schedule a visit.

He says it’s not unprecedented for Saskatchewan First Nations to make international ties.

Joseph points to the Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s success in marketing wild rice overseas as just one example.
