First Nations University of Canada students now have another opportunity to travel abroad . . . and the school will get students from another country.

Yesterday, the instituation signed an academic exchange agreement with a university in Mexico.

FNUC has previously signed similar agreements with universities in Taiwan, China, and Australia.

Dr. Fransisco May is president of the Universidad Intercultural Maya de Quintana Roo, and travelled to Regina for yesterday’s signing ceremony.

He says his students in Mexico have approached him asking if they can take classes outside of their home country.

A student from Mexico began taking classes today at the FNUC’s Saskatoon campus.
