Fired Cops Applying For Judicial Review Of Firings

An application has been launched for a judicial review into the firings of two Saskatoon police officers.

On Friday, it was revealed that Brad Senger and Larry Hartwig are trying to get their old jobs back.

The two were dismissed after a judge determined the pair had Neil Stonechild in their custody shortly before he was found frozen to death on the city’s outskirts.

Mitch Holash is the lawyer who defended the police department during the first round of the officer’s appeals.

He says this latest challenge is an attempt to get the courts to look at why their appeal was dismissed.

Holash has stepped away from his post as chairman of the Saskatchewan Police Commission to prevent any chance of conflicts.
