An emergency boil water order has been issued for the village of Air Ronge and the surrounding reserves.

Saskatchewan Environment spokesman Warren Kelly says a possible contamination occured when a waste line broke in the plant last night and wasn’t noticed until this morning.

The village and the regional health authority are providing those affected by the boil water order a number of ways to prevent contamination in their home.

Kelly says the advisory will likely remain in effect for at least a couple of days as clean-up efforts continue.
