Elections, FNUC Dominate FSIN Assembly Agenda
Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at 14:21
Chiefs and other First Nations officials from across the province are in Saskatoon today for Day One of the FSIN’s fall legislative assembly.
There are two big agenda items over the next couple of days.
One of them is an update from the task force appointed to review the situation at the First Nations University of Canada.
The other major item of business is vice-chief elections.
Vice chiefs Lawrence Joseph and Guy Lonechild are both seeking re-election. Joseph is being opposed by Eileen Gelowitz and Raymond Shingoose — Lonechild’s challengers are Pat Sparvier and Ken Thomas.
Speeches and nominations take place today — the actual voting happens tomorrow.
