A massive inventory project is underway in northern Saskatchewan.

Ducks Unlimited Canada is mapping an area almost as large as Prince Edward Island near Beauval.

Ducks Unlimited spokesman Eric Butterworth says they want to determine the impact of industrial and agricultural pressure on boreal wetlands.

Butterworth adds the Beauval project will last five years and cost millions of dollars.

Ducks Unlimited has already mapped 50 million hectares of boreal forest from the Yukon to Manitoba.
