A pre-trial conference will be held next month for a Prince Albert man accused of killing a 16-year-old girl.

Cody Halkett was charged earlier this month after the girl’s body was found near a business in the city.

A lawyer for the defence says he expects a lot of witnesses to be called when Halkett’s preliminary hearing is held.

He says a pre-trial conference is needed to sort out details of how long they will need for the hearing.

The judge ordered Halkett be held in custody until the conference on June 26.

The name of the victim has not been released, at the family’s request.
