Cook Ready to Give Up Politics

It appears 2005 will be a year of transition for the Lac La Ronge Indian Band.

While it’s not news to locals, long-time chief Harry Cook confirms he will not seek re-election this year after 17 years at the helm.

However, Cook says he will be fairly visible after the election this March — and hopes to stay on with the band in a consulting role.

Cook says February 11th will be his last official day in office.
