Company Searching For Deposit Near Black Lake

CanAlaska Uranium says it expects drilling to continue through June on the Black Lake First Nation, in the hopes of discovering uranium.

Director Emil Fung says they first began work on the project last year.

He explains they are looking for uranium near the old U.E.X. project site, and have already dug multiple holes.

He says drilling could continue into July, depending on how much material they find.

Ultimately, he says, CanAlaska is hoping to find enough uranium to start an economically viable commercial operation.

Fung says before that happens, however, company officials would need to consult with the band.
