Beauval has been chosen to host this year’s Northern Saskatchewan Sport and Cultural Festival.

This October, the community will host the 7th edition of the event — which features cultural activities, sport development, and recreation and physical activity programs.

The festival was first held in 1980 in La Ronge.

Since then, it has been hosted by Cumberland House, Buffalo Narrows, Stony Rapids, Black Lake, and Montreal Lake.

The event is held every three to five years.

Montreal Lake hosted the last festival in 2006, when it was called the Northern Saskatchewan Cultural Gathering.
