A 23-year-old member of the English River First Nation is looking forward to spending the summer with the RCMP.

Josh Eaglechild was one of 27 young men and women that graduated from the force’s Aboriginal youth training program on Friday.

The young recruit will spend the next several weeks alongside seasoned officers in Dillon.

Eaglechild says he can hardly wait.

Emery McKenzie of Stanley Mission and Carmen Sewap of Deschambault Lake also graduated from the program.

They will head to detachments in their communities, as well.

After the recruits have completed their internship, they will be free to take the RCMP entrance exam.
