A political science instructor with the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technology feels the attacks of September the 11th are still being felt in northern Saskatchewan.

Ray Davie says the U.S. only decided to invade Iraq after the World Trade Centre was attacked, and Canada’s refusal to help American militarily is still evident by the way they are dealing with us trade-wise. Davie claims the tariffs recently slapped on Canadian timber are just one of the ways the U.S. is trying to get back at us.

Davie doubts Canada will back the U.S. on any other foreign invasions either, even when Paul Martin comes to town. He says Canada has traditionally stayed by the side of the United Nations and won’t back military action unless it is justified.
