Northern Outfitters Recognized for Staff Training

A number of Northern Saskatchewn outfitters have been honored this year by Saskatchewan Tourism for their committment to staff development through National Standards and Certification.

There are roughly 30 different categories that individuals can get certified in.

Tourism Saskatchewan spokesperson Kate Lau says certification is a standard that is recognized across the country.

Lau also says that Saskatchewan has the highest per capita rate of involvement in certification in Canada, but isn’t sure how many northern aboriginals have taken part in the program.

Saskatchewan Tourism week kicked off on June 1st and celebrations will wrap up this Saturday.
