The La Ronge RCMP is advising residents to safeguard their homes following a string of frightening home invasions in the community.

The Mounties have a 15-year-old boy in custody that has been implicated in at least 6 break and enters in recent weeks, and who may face more charges in connection to other break-ins.

In some of these cases, the occupants of the home awoke to find an intruder in their bedroom.

RCMP Corporal Glen Reitlo says it appears the intruder didn’t pay much attention to whether there were occupants in the homes that were targetted.

Reitlo also says the RCMP believe the intruder was only after property in the homes, and not anything else.

The suspect in the case made an appearance in La Ronge provincial court last week, and is due back in court this Friday.
