Four Candidates Running for Chief in Fond du Lac

Four people will be running for chief of the Fond du Lac First Nation when the band holds its election later this week.

The candidates let their names stand at a nomination meeting held yesterday.

Chief Eddie Martin will be seeking his 3rd term in office. He’s been chief of the Fond du Lac band for the past 4 years.

His challengers include Rudy Adam, Peter Fern and Diane McDonald. Adam and Fern are former band councillors.

Meantime, 24 candidates are running for the 6 seats on council, including all 6 incumbents.

The election will be held this Friday.
