Body Of Snowmobiler Found In Churchill River

Searchers have recovered the body of a missing snowmobiler who went through some open water near Stanley Mission on Sunday.
The body of the 24-year-old man was found in the Churchill River yesterday afternoon by local search and rescue personnel.
The RCMP’s underway recovery team had been called in to assist with the efforts.
The victim and a 16-year-old boy were on a snowmachine that drove into some open water early Sunday evening between the reserve and the Holy Trinity Anglican Church.
The teen was pulled to safety by people who were in the area at the time.
The name of the victim hasn’t been released.
An autopsy has been ordered, and the investigation continues.
