Sandy Bay RCMP are investigating a shooting that left one man injured Tuesday morning.

Police say they received a report around 7:50 a.m. that a firearm had been discharged toward a vehicle in the community.

Initial investigation determined an adult man was struck and taken to the local clinic. His injuries are described as non-life-threatening.

RCMP say there is an increased police presence in Sandy Bay as officers continue to investigate the incident.

Police have not released any information about suspects and say the investigation is ongoing.

They add that updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
