Wollaston Lake RCMP have charged three people following an investigation into a firearm discharge in the community.

Police say officers responded to a report on Sept. 18 that a firearm had been fired at a residence on Hatchet Lake Denesuline First Nation.

Investigators determined the home was struck by gunfire, but no one inside reported injuries.

Following the investigation, RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in the community and arrested 18-year-old Kierra Shaoulle.

Two male youths were later arrested on Sept. 21 and Oct. 2.

Shaoulle and the two youths, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, each face multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, discharging a firearm with intent, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and using a firearm in the commission of an offence.

Shaoulle also faces an additional weapons charge and five counts of failing to comply with a release order.

One of the youths appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court on Oct. 5, while Shaoulle and the second youth are scheduled to appear in Wollaston Lake court on Oct. 14.
