Melville RCMP are investigating a fatal collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian northeast of the city.
Police say officers were called to Highway 10, about nine kilometres northeast of Melville, at approximately 7:10 p.m. on October 2 after receiving a report of a collision.
A 73-year-old woman from the Melville area was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS. Her family has been notified.
The driver remained at the scene, and both the driver and passenger were assessed by paramedics.
Melville RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.
RCMP say that as of October 5, there have been 72 fatal collisions resulting in 87 deaths on roadways policed by Saskatchewan RCMP in 2026.
