Swift Current Municipal RCMP have charged a male in relation to investigations into two sexual assaults. Investigators are now looking into whether there are other victims.
In September 2026, Swift Current Municipal RCMP received two reports of sexual assaults of teenaged girls. Both occurred this year in Swift Current.
As a result of continuing investigation, 23-year-old Aniken Edwards from Swift Current was arrested and has been charged with two counts of sexual assault, Section 271, Criminal Code and one count, invitation to sexual touching, Section 152, Criminal Code.
He has been remanded into custody until his next scheduled appearance in Swift Current Provincial Court on October 5, 2026 (Information 90542680).
Generally speaking, we limit what we release about sexual assaults to be mindful of the well-being and the privacy of the victims. In this case, investigators are now looking into whether there may be additional victims. Because of this, we are releasing additional information about these investigations to assist in identifying any potential additional victims.
Investigators believe the accused befriends people who are younger than him. It’s believed the accused often hangs out at places frequented by teenagers. He is also known to use Snapchat to communicate with teenaged girls.
