A Regina man is facing multiple charges after an alleged armed robbery led police to seize a modified rifle, ammunition and illicit drugs.

Regina police say officers were called to a business in the 2100 block of Broad Street on September 29 after a victim reported being threatened during an attempt to sell a watch.

Investigators allege the suspect lured the victim to the side of the business, produced what appeared to be a firearm and pointed it at the victim before the victim left the area and contacted police.

Officers located and arrested the suspect a short time later near the business.

During a search, police say they found a modified .22-calibre rifle, ammunition, fentanyl and methamphetamine.

As a result of the investigation, 41-year-old Christopher Cook, has been charged with armed robbery using a restricted or prohibited firearm, multiple firearms offences and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Cook made his first appearance in Regina Provincial Court on September 30.
