A proactive patrol by Stanley Mission RCMP has resulted in the seizure of more than one kilogram of suspected cocaine and the arrest of three people.

“Proactive patrols are an important part of how we keep our communities safe. In this case, what began as a traffic stop resulted in officers intercepting a significant quantity of dangerous illicit drugs before they could circulate in the community,” stated S/Sgt. Derek Eberle with La Ronge RCMP. “This is a clear example of how proactive policing can have a direct impact on community safety.”

Police say officers conducted a traffic stop in Stanley Mission at about 2:05 a.m. on September 26.

During the stop, officers observed drug trafficking paraphernalia and open alcohol in plain view inside the vehicle.

All three occupants were arrested.
