Police seeking information about black Dodge Journey linked to ongoing investigation
Saskatchewan RCMP say residents of Pelican Narrows and the surrounding area will continue to see an increased police presence as officers investigate an initial firearm discharge and a subsequent flight from police.
Investigators are working to identify and locate the occupants of a suspect vehicle connected to the incident. Police are asking anyone who saw a 2016 black Dodge Journey with Saskatchewan licence plate 894 KUG in the Pelican Narrows area late on Sept. 20 or early on Sept. 21 to contact police.
Information can be reported to Pelican Narrows RCMP by calling 310-RCMP (7267) or anonymously through Saskatchewan Crimestoppers online or calling 1-800-222-8477.
RCMP say they will notify the public if an imminent risk to public safety is identified.
The Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team was also notified after an RCMP firearm was discharged during the investigation.
SIRT determined the incident was outside its mandate.
The investigation is being led by Saskatchewan RCMP’s Prince Albert Serious Crimes Unit and Pelican Narrows RCMP, with assistance from Sandy Bay RCMP and specialized RCMP units, including Police Dog Services, Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems, the Critical Incident Response Program and the Forensic Identification Section.
