A 35-year-old Prince Albert man is facing drug trafficking and firearms-related charges after a police investigation that resulted in the seizure of cocaine, other controlled substances, cash, weapons and suspected proceeds of crime.
The Prince Albert Police Service Crime Reduction Team began investigating suspected cocaine trafficking in the city in early September. As part of the investigation, officers obtained search warrants for a residence and a vehicle.
On September 16, police arrested the suspect during a traffic stop in the 700 block of 4th Street East. He was taken into custody without incident and a vehicle connected to the investigation was seized. Officers also located and seized a fixed-blade knife during a search of the vehicle.
Later that evening, members of the Crime Reduction Team executed a search warrant at a residence in the 800 block of 6th Street East.
Police say they seized:
- 271.4 grams of powder cocaine;
- 76.9 grams of crack cocaine;
- 114.7 grams of MDMA;
- 188 hydromorphone pills;
- 213 grams of marijuana;
- An Aero Survival Rifle and ammunition;
- Approximately $2,200 in cash;
- Five scales;
- Four drug press moulds; and
- 20 guitars valued at about $20,000.
Prince Albert Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
The charges have not been proven in court.
