A Regina man is facing multiple charges after allegedly stealing fuel, fleeing from police in a stolen truck and leading officers on a pursuit through central Saskatchewan.
Punnichy RCMP received a report of a fuel theft from a business in Raymore at about 4:30 p.m. on September 21. Police say the suspect fled the scene before officers located him a short time later on Kawacatoose First Nation.
Investigators determined the truck involved had been stolen from a rural property in the RM of Mount Hope on September 20. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the driver allegedly failed to stop and fled.
RCMP officers from several detachments, along with Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan and Yorkton Police Dog Services, assisted in the response.
Police deployed a tire deflation device at the intersection of Highway 15 and Township Road 270A. The truck ran over the device and came to a stop shortly afterward. The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was arrested. No injuries were reported.
As a result of the investigation, 42-year-old Tyler Ross of Regina is charged with:
- Flight from a peace officer;
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000; and
- Two counts of failing to comply with a release order condition.
Ross was also arrested on outstanding warrants issued by Wynyard RCMP in connection with separate September 2026 investigations involving allegations of truck theft and theft under $5,000.
He was scheduled to appear in Punnichy court on September 22.
