A 38-year-old Martensville man is facing multiple child exploitation-related charges following an investigation by Saskatchewan’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit.
Investigators executed a search warrant at a Martensville residence on Sept. 17. Electronic devices were examined at the scene and seized for further investigation.
As a result, 38-year-old Matthew Joseph Wood was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of child abuse and exploitation material, one count of making child abuse and exploitation material available, and one count of breaching a prohibition order.
According to the Saskatchewan ICE Unit, Wood was previously charged with child exploitation offences in January 2024 and remained in custody until his release in May 2026.
Wood appeared in court on the latest charges Sept. 18 and was remanded in custody. He is scheduled to return to Saskatoon Provincial Court on Sept. 22.
The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is made up of investigators from the Saskatchewan RCMP, Regina Police Service and Saskatoon Police Service. The unit investigates offences involving child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
As with all criminal charges, the allegations have not been proven in court.
